1. Look at what you are eating. Put the foods on your plate instead of easting out of a jar or bag.

2. Juice has many calories. It is better to eat the fruit then drink the juice. Ounce for ounce, juice has as many calories as soda. Set a limit of one 8-ounce glass of fruit juice a day. Better if you dilute the juice with half water then you are getting 16 ounce of juice diluted. Better yet, don’t drink juice. Eat the fruit.

3. Get calories from the foods you chew and not the beverages you drink. Again, eating the fruit instead of the fruit juice.

4. If you want to see how much you eat and drink throughout the day, keep a journal. You will be surprised how much you really eat and not what you think you ate.

5. There is a chinese saying “Eat until you are eight-tenths full.” If you pay attention to eating, you will most likely feel when you are full or almost-full and then stop eating.
