Belly Fat and Weight Loss Research
Written by adminI was listening to Dr. Ronald Hoffman and thought this was a very important new discovery to mention regarding weight loss. If you can’t lose weight or constantly hungry, maybe you have an enemy around your waistline—your belly fat. It appears there is a new mechanism found where the appetite is increased in people who are overweight with belly fat.
Let’s look at the story about the fat around your waistline—belly fat. Belly fat can be your worst enemy when it comes to dieting. It turns out that fat around the waistline may act as a hostile enemy organ churning out powerful stimulating hormones and that may very well be the reason why you are overweight and constantly hungry.
You would think that it should be easy to lose weight by eating less and burning off your fat with exercise. It appears that fat cells accumulated around the waist do a lot of things. They release pro-inflammatory substances, they promote insulin resistance, they can raise blood pressure, but they also may affect the brain by churning out a powerful appetite stimulating hormone that’s called neuropeptide Y. It’s an appetite stimulant that was previously thought just to come from the brain. It now appears that your belly fat makes it and what they are targeting now and wondering is if there’s a way they can block NPY or neuropeptide Y via a drug that can injected directly into the belly fat or maybe a transdermal cream that you can apply to your belly that allows enough of the drug to be absorbed into the skin thus turning off the appetite stimulating effect of your own fat cells.
It is an intriguing prospect. It is not yet available at your local health food store or pharmacy but promising work is underway.
I think this is promising. If the belly fat is churning out NPY, then if there is something that can stop that constant hunger, that would greatly help with weight loss. When you are not hungry, most people will not eat. If you have that nawing hunger, it is difficult to lose weight.
Hope that this research and development of a product can help people who have belly fat and overweight to somehow control the hunger. The product looking to be developed doesn’t appear to make you lose weight, but control your constant hunger so you can lose weight.
